Released a debut album “Asembe isebenza” and gained Slapdee a decent radio hype and generated a buzz in the Hip-hop underground. Although his debut album wasn’t a success, Slapdee released a second album So Che, launching him into a household name, with the hit songs Solola and Takwaba. The album catapulted the young rhymesmith to national stardom and confirmed what well-informed critics had suspected; The next big thing had arrived!.

During this time he collaborated with songbird Sutu on Disposable and Kamba Che. 2007/08 saw Slapdee embroiled in a bitter feud with crooner Mampi. As the beef raged, the listening public was spoilt with legendary tracks like Nizee and Sunshila. In 2009 his third album Black na White was released and quickly became a fan favourite with the hits Goldigger, Fo’Shizzy and Chishinka.

Between releasing great music and with his business ventures, Slapdee found himself in a hip hop beef with fellow rapper, Macky 2. A beef purely influenced by fans, the two continued to produce great music and came face-to-face in 2015 during a performance.
